Selous Scout (aka LegTrap) Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Three teenage mtb's were mugged by machete wielding thugs yesterday.I hear one was caught,so hopefully he spills the beans on the others. I think it is time I bought a gun !
majestic Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 There was a huge police and private security chase.Cars and Helicopter all over the valley until the chopper had to make an emergency landing in the bush at Fairview. Thankfully not much damage and no one hurt.But thumbs up to the cops. :thumbup: They are very evident at the moment.
Sawdust Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I wouldn't ride on that side of the valley anymore without a gun. A real pity since there are great trails there. I hope this incident will be one of the last. Did any of the boys get hurt?
Azonic Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I grew up riding those trails. I haven't ridden there for years, and won't anymore. Its 5km from my house but won't risk it there anymore.
gummibear Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 A few years back i managed to organise a clean up of that valley from Kragga Kamma down to Settlers Park.Crime in all the areas that border the Valley went down for a while after that but the funny thing was all the complaints that came in afterwards because the public complainded that we were to heavy handed.I didn't bother again after that and now look at how it has gone. When i last road there about 18 months back we counted over 50 guys in the bush.Not walking but just sitting there.
