ok, tried a search and couldnt find anything.

Was at LBS a few days ago and saw flavoured "Air in a Can"

anyone know of it...sounds like another powerbalance situation.

Would appreciate the feedback anyone can offer on the performance/recovery benefits of using higher concentrates of oxygen.

I am a scuba diver and am aware of the 21% O2 vs 79% nitrogen (ignorring trace gasses) - but am about to switch over to diving Nitrox (which is 32%-36% oxygen)

Maybe after a long ride, i should take my Scuba Cylinder with and breathe off that for recovery?

If it has good benefits, then how come that little can in the LBS is like R100 bucks, but i pay R75 for 12Litres of scuba Nitrox?

Rather use 100% O2 then Wayne. Not sure how much it will help you, should help a bit but not sure worth the cost.

I know they was talk of using a Hyperbaric chamber to flush out latic acid a while ago and to help with injuries as it forces O2 into the system.

Being in a chamber is cool u talk like Micky mouse and get narcked up

Because they can. Dude why does anyone charge what they charge? Because the feel the market will bear it. And the more unlikely the results are the higher the price needs to be.

Just think, you pay R500.00 for something that you find out is a load of crock (you thought maybe anyway) are you gonna tell ppl that is it k@k?

Wayne

I have a fair amount of experience with Hyperbaric treatments (HBO) to get the most benefit you need to be at elevated ambient pressure to allow the tissues to absorb more 100% - O2

O2 is a wonder drug and highly underated but am not sure the average Joe will feel its healing effects as a pure recovery method, its very effective in wound healing and with broken bones

The other thing is its quite expensive from an equipment point of view and the manning by qualified people and a doctor to oversee progress

gone off the beaten track a bit but I reckon you get the jist there is loads of info about all of this on the web

There are units scattered around the country and good to know where especially if you intend diving on nitrox or tri mix
