Merida MATTS Lite 1000-D

I have been considering upgrading my current Merida Matts TFS 100 V for a bike with a better fork and disc brakes (I am a weekend warrior weighing 115kg, 1.9m tall)

My current bike is also an XL which I find too big for me and difficult to control.

 

Would the LITE 1000-D be a good step up... Prices around R10k seem to be very available

Then lastly, what would you hubbers say is a fair price to sell my 2007 Matts TFS 100 V for? R2000?

I have found a 1000-D lite for under R9k

Personally I dont think much else comes close spec wise at the moment

Identical components to the Silverback Spectra, R9000 is a good price for new. The only thing i did not like on the Merida is the wide handle bars, but that just my taste.

What would you think the best price one could find currently on the Silverback spectra...

But confimed new price of R8500 on a new Merida 1000D Lite

Both bikes seem more than awesome to me

You should get the Spectra for similair price as the Merida you were offered, at a squeeze a bit cheaper. I saw some shops with a price tag of R11500 for the Merida when i was shopping around.

If cycle lab has the merida for 10.5k it must be more around the 8.5k I found at a lot of places... haha

Where did you find the Merida 1000 lite for R8,500? I have found the best price to be R10,315.000. Please let me know as that is a great price

Iam 194cm 102kg and i find the same xl bike too small for me .After measuring at myLBS they suggested a xxl santacruz frame with 29 inch tyres .I like my merida but it feels asif i,m going over they handelbars.on downhills. quote for bike was R40000.0 .Any other suggestions for us tall people
