I am thinking about getting a group going to organise rides on Table Mountain (primarily for City Bowl dwellers). It might end up as a club, depends on the uptake and how it goes. Anybody interested, feel free to get in touch.

I'll definitely join in. I've tried to do something like this in the past, but it never really got off the ground. If you're prepared to drive it and put in the admin it would be great. I hate cycling alone!

Thanks for your responses. I guess the next step is to arrange a time to ride together. Primarily it's the safety in numbers issue I want to address, but also to get guys together who ride mainly on their own. I also ride mostly by myself and it gets a bit boring to be honest. With the Easter weekend coming and the glut of public holidays, I suggest a ride on the weekend of the 7.5? Saturday or Sunday, morning or later, let me know.

Send me your email addresses and mobile numbers so we can correspond directly. zulurob@iafrica.com

If any of you are in town on the weekend of the 30th, we could also go for a ride then? I live at the top of Kloof Street and get on to the mountain at the Bengis Sportsfield, below the Deer Park carpark. We could meet there?

How did it go at the epic? I got lucky with an early bird entry for 2012. I live in Gardens and am keen to ride. I sent you an email.

Cheers

I would like to ride on Saturday morning, but i have to look after our daughter from 8:15am for about 2 hours. Either ride early (6, but it will be dark), or later?

Or go out on Sunday morning. Let me know who can or can't .

Hi Brian K

Distance depends on where we go, but riding for 2 hours on the mountain can be anything between 25-30km.

Not sure of everyone's riding ability yet, that will sort itself out. What are you looking for?

The point is to get a regular weekend ride going and then look at weekday afternoon and a night ride too.

Send me your email address then I can put you on the mailing list.

1-2 hours on weekends is good, about 1 hour during the week. my work puts strain on my reliability though
