I have ordered plenty of goods from CRC over the years and it has always been delivered very quickly to me utilising an expedited service with a tracking number.

However my most recent order was sent via normal airmail with no tracking number and it took more than 3 weeks to arrive.

I want to place another order with CRC but only if my package is shipped utilising the expedited service with a tracking number. If this service is not available I would rather buy the goods from my local bike shop.

Have any of you guys had a similar experience with recent CRC orders?

If you want fast, tracked postage, you need to select Parcel Force as the shipping method. This will cost around R200 more than normal Royal Mail shipping. Parcel Force is the default on larger orders and any order with free shipping.

I found snail mail to require much patience and unless its a single low valued item, I will in the future pay for the faster service. Then again, this added cost is putting most of CRC wish list into the trash can and will rather get from a local source - not going to hijack your thread but I ordered shifters yesterday before lunch and the courier was at the office this morning with them.

Edman, I ordered in excess of R3 000 worth of kit so qualified for free shipping and they still sent it via snail mail and not the default Parcel Force as with all previous orders of mine!!!

I have been buying lots overseas for over 10 years. The last 3 months has been very bad. There's a big problem at customs. Too many public holidays I would say. Parcels were always delivered between 14 and 20 days... now it's 20-60 days. It's mostly parcels from China and parcels with tracking numbers that get delayed like that.

This week, when tracking a parcel of which I've already faxed the invoices to customs twice (it's been at customs for 14 work days now) , the person answering said that that department is very far behind and that the wait will be long.

So... it's better to use an overseas forwarding company, pay a bit extra, get all parcels delivered at once with DHL or Fedex... ship everything from the east to the US, because the US postal system works, then forward from the US to SA with Fedex.

Our postal system is deteriorating very fast - like everything else in RSA... 3rd world we live in...

I ordered wheels from CRC.

They landed in RSA within the few days as promised.

But then had to collect at the good old airport post office, gys told me they could not find the address.

Well thank goodness for the tracking number, but poor service from our team.
