Some advice needed???

Hi there

 

 

 

I'm looking at upgrading my MTB and just want some advice.

 

 

 

I'm looking to spend about R7500.

 

 

 

My personal choice is the GT Avalanche 1.0 disc with an upgrade on the fork. Me wanting to put the Rockshox Tora that comes on the Avalance Expert on it.

 

 

 

What do you guys recommend?

Me got GT Avalanche 0.5 standard, awesome bike, rock solid. The Marzocchi air shock is great, simple and robust and the SRAM 0.9 is tractor tough. Just regret no lockout. I have done lots of marathons and shorter stuff on it and it keeps on running sweet. Great bike.

Does that R7 utilise SPV, if so, YUK. The rest of the bike is wicked though.

Anthem S, should retail for R8k odd. If you are looking for DS.

 

Otherwise the GT is a good buy if you are looking for a HT. Probably best frame for the price.

I somehow don't think that Intense Spider falls within The GT's budget of R7500, and i think he is limiting his choices to GT.

I would spend the extra 3 or 4k and go for the base model I-Drive 4.

I looked in the same budget range, and found that the Schwinn Moab 2008 disc, has extremely good specs for a R7k bike!

 

SRAM x.7 and x.9 deraileurs, juicy 3 discs and rock shox tora.

 

I'm getting mine soon!
