hallo i want to know if a SLX 10speed chain will work on a SLX 9 speed crank?

I'm sure it will because I used 11 speed chain on my 10 spd crank.

Can anybody else please comment if you know more about this? (I have a 10-speed chain, casette, rear derailer and can get a SLX 9-speed crank set for a reasonably good price and i would like to know if it will work before I buy it).

Personally I don't think the chain will run correctly, it should be thinner than the ac speed and it will grind somewhere, there must be a reason there are seperate 10 and 9 speed chains

What do you gain by using the 10sp over the 9? Start there. If you cannot find a marked benefit, best stick to what you know works.
