Hey guys,

I've got a Sram Force crankset and when I looked at the league gear restrictions i noticed i needed a 52/17.

Now i've already got hold of the rear cassete but my front chainring is a 53.

Will an ultegra/105 front chainring fit onto a Sram crank arm?

Cheers

You would have to get the BCD of the 105/Ultegra 52 chainrings which I have a sneaky suspicion that they are mostly compact chainrings. But Shimano should have standard 52 chainrings but for some odd reason they do not advertise the BCD of these chainrings, only the model number, on websites like CRC.

You can match the model number to the technical specs on Shimano's website, I know you struggled a bit with google the other night but give it another try. Or phone the shop you intend on buying from

Standard crank has a BCD (Bolt Centre Diameter) of 130mm, the common 53/39 combination.

Compact crank BCD 110 the 50/34 combination.

(Campy has some weird BCD's 135mm and I forget the inner one)

Most roadbikes chainrings have 5 bolts but some mtb's have 4 or 5, so it wouldn't hurt to check.

FSA definitely has a 130mm BCD 5 bolt 52 chainring ... now you know what to search for!

(If you have a standard crank!)
