One of my friends has it on his AM bike. He loves it. You can basically change gears regardless of whether the chain is under load or not. You can even change gears while back pedalling. So it's an interesting piece of kit. It does however weigh quite a bit more than a normal crank, and I'm not sure how many bike shops can actually support it in terms of maintenance.

I read all its reviews on the interwebs.

It requires a frame with chain guides so you can't just stick one on your bike.

Additionally, it makes a noise when in one of the cogs.

My assessment.

Ease using gears 10/10

Increased clearance 10/10

Value for money 1/10

Cool factor 11/10.

Weight 5/10

Maintenance? 1/10
