So there I was, minding my own business and getting into that zone where you don't want to do any thing else but keep on riding and riding. Then all of a sudden, like a bullet out of nowhere this kamikaze bee shoots towards me, hits one of the sides of a vent in the helmet and just stings me a couple of centimeters above the ear.

Result - awful burning feeling of the side of the head and spoiling the rest of the ride. <_<

Luckily I am not allergic as that could have ended very badly.

Is in normal to get nauseas after being stung by a bee while you are out training or do I just need too have a look at "the rules of the cog"? Especially rule no. 5? https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/110399-the-rules/

RIP Mr. Kamikaze Bee

If you're riding with other people its worth asking someone to try and locate the sting and pull it out. Trying to ignore it and just riding on doesn't really work here since the sting will continually release poison.

Was alone in Klapperkop when Mr Kamikaze stung me. Quickest I have ever removed my helmet while riding. I either pulled out the stinger when I took off the helmet or when I scratched / rubbed the area...

Ouch, I feel your pain!

Waaayyy... back when I got nailed by a kamikaze bee on my lip while riding, I now have a small scar there.

EINA!!!!! damn that must have hurt... Can't start to imagine how sore that must have been...

I have been stung twice while out cycling. The first time my forehead and upper face area swelled up. Looked like somebody from Star Trek. :( The second time I only had slight discomfort. So I presume it is true that bees can be more poisonous certain times of the year?
