Still too early for me ;) But I'll look at joining for the Friday afternoon ride.

Also a (long, hectic road climb) inland way from leisure Bay towards Munster and then to clearwater via Izingloweni Road.

I'm intrigued, tell me more.

Get to the main road from Leisure Bay, ride North towards Munster, turn off the Main Road and West at the Munster Spar. Ride along that road for a little way, then there is a weird little road that is a part sand road to the left, get on that, it eventually becomes tar, and then you ride through some farm looking areas, some twonship, taxi rank areas, and the road gets good, it must be new, and that's where the climb begins, its hard from what I remember, the cool this is you end up above the nature reserve on the Izingloweni-Port edward road, and its an awesome cruise back towards clearwater/port edward. Im planning to do it a few times. If you are going to be there, pm me.

Just saw this thread now. If you are staying anywhere between Port Edward and Port Shepstone, I suggest you try Lake Eland. It is near or on the Oribi Gorge, with some great single track and breathtaking views.

It is a bit of a drive to get there, but you won't be sorry.

We go down to San Lameer often and this year I have marked a .gps route that will hopefully give us a 105km round trip from San Lameer through Lake Eland and back.

I'm from KZN Midlands and going to be in Eshowe area over Christmas and keen to hook up with any group MTB rides. Any invites will be reciprocated if you are ever in my neck of the woods - Karkloof/Notties etc. Look forward to hearing from you..

The gravel section was a bit too squirrelly for my road bike, but I got a seriously good climbing ride by going from the Old Pont and turning left onto the Port Edward-Izingolweni road. I turned right onto the Munster road and went all the way to the gravel before turning around and coming back up again.

I've done it a few times in the last 2 weeks. The gravel is too much for a road bike, but the climb is good. I have done it on my mtb. There is a mtb ride every Saturday morning at 6-30 from Dura Cycles in Margate, I did it this Saturday, it was pretty fun, tough climbs, good singletrack
