FSA BB

my tandem has FSA crank and BB, recently bought it and the guy who i bought it from said that he last rode it about two years back. it was standing in Queensbrough in durban. the cables and a few bolts and screws are rusted on it.

i just took the cranks off but the BB is an "off Center" one with some other doo-dads and screws there so i left it there.... , when i turned the bb by hand, it was rough but not "Gritty" rough if you know what i mean and it was a bit noisy.... do these need replacing? i have NO idea when last they were done, if ever, and they stood for 2 years..... do the seals etc perish with standing for so long? my prob is budget to fix everything at once as i need new tires as well and possibly new brakes too..... so if i dont have to replace them now it can wait until the next service??

 

can one use Shimano BB's in there?? or is it FSA for FSA!
