It's called "The Bike Shop"

 

It's in Main street (#26, if memory serves me correctly).

Hey Bruce, i have been riding on my Plett holidays for quite a few years now.  All the rides go out on the highway towards PE.  Kevin and Douglas Ryder control the ride and if you are sitting in the slip, you do plenty of coasting.  At this time of the year the group can be as big as 70/80 but will split when you get to the toll gate.  Most come back but Kevin and Douglas will then do the passes, eg Coldstream and then back on highway to toll gate where they will climb off and do the Natures Valley pass, then back to Plett.

 

I am not sure what yout training schedule is but if you are planning on doing tempo and L4 rides, it will be better doing it on your own.  The group ride will be to slow for you.

 

Maybe what you can do is ride with group to toll gate as a warm up and then do your L4 on the passes?

 

I will be there on the 21st and leave on the 20th January.  Met you at Bloem when i collected my wheels from 101%, will come and say hi on the road.  My training is plenty L4/sweet spot training for that time, so will be riding on my own on some days.

Bruce where in Plett are you staying? To be back by 7.30am you will be riding on your own, group gets back later than that.  If you are on Roberg side, you will have to climb out of Plett to get to highway, you ride will then be about 76km to gate and back.

Thanks for that.  I know what you mean, the only guys in those bunches that get a decent workout are the guys on the front.  And they usually don't like anyone else riding on the front, so I tend to ride alone mostly.

 

I'll check Mapsource and figure out some of the route e.g. Natures Valley.

 

Please, if you see me on the road (in Bulk Pack kit) give me a shout!  I'll stop, even if it's in the middle of 2x20

 

I'm staying at Casteton, up on top of the hill, quite close to the N2.  I assume the guys meet at the Engen close to the shopping centre?

Did you get some good training done in Plett?  I think you flashed by me the one morning......but could not be sure.  Hope you had a good time!!  My training did not go well at all......fatherhood has certainly forced a few changes
