Is there an adaptor to fit a bb30 crank into a std 68mm bb.

I have searched the forums and web and i know you can put std cranks into BB30 frames. But can I do it the other way

Yes You can!

Sram make an adapter that slides into the BB shell and is held therewith a special loctite paste, then it reduces the overall diamter and provides the threaded area for you to turn in your GXP BB cups to sun a standard crank spindle.

I have fitted two myself so I know it works

So what you saying is that you can use this to fit a BB30 crank to a STD BB ..?

It would be nice if they made a pressfit needle bearing that would fit - just from an ease of ownership point of view having one crank type - there would be no stiffness benefit though, although the BB30 cranks are a bit lighter and have narrower Q factors.

Needle bearings in a BB is a very bad idea. Shimano tried it ten years ago with their Dura Ace BBs and it was a big flop. The needles ideally want to run in oil, since they tend to push the grease out without recycling it like balls do. The needle BBs failed very quickly.
