Anyone on the forum is welcome to PM me any questions they might have that are Bio related. We are affiliated with Bios all over the country and could put you in touch with someone specific to your needs.

Ok, so I had a nasty endo on Friday arvie and am sitting reading this forum with my arm in a sling when I should be out doing my "long ride" for Trans-Portugal on 5th May i.e in 9 weeks (its a 9 day over 1150km with 24500m ascent). Training-wise, this could not have happened at a worse time, so not a happy camper. X-rays show nothing broken, but a clear "shoulder separation" and I have very little if any movement without major league pain and crackling noises.. I will be seeing a GP tomorrow to see how bad it is, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't rather see a good Bio or Sports Physio. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I would go to the GP, or a sports doctor if you can and get a better understanding of exactly how severe the damage is before proceeding. The start of your healing process might require something like rest, pain / inflammation management etc before you can start anything else.

To get your mobility back I would actually recommend a bio and a physio (depending on the severity), as the Bio can help you regain strength and mobility, whilst the physio can work on muscle strain.

But Im no doctor.

Check first for any fractures!

Then do what your Bio thinks best.

Other than than that - Genpain.

Things they can help with that are often overlooked:

Balance

Form (posture, movement etc)

Core strength

Identifying problem muscle groups

I'll add breathing techniques - although it vaguely links to core strength .You can try to DIY it as per latest Ride magazine, techniques are simple
