Where to stay in Clarens?

Is there a Merry Pebbles type place in Clarens? I'm keen to stay at a similar place where we can camp, and where we will also be close to the start.

I am also keen on camping at a great spot in Clarens similar to Merry Pebbles (Sabie).

I've been looking at camping at Clarens Inn and Backpackers.. It's going to be freezing, but all part of the fun!

There is camping at the national parks site, seemed very nice. I have only ever stayed in the rondavels across the road, but the campsite is neat and about 10 km from Clarens.

ja if you want to camp - then golden gate national park. its right there. will take 10 mins to drive to clarens

I grew up in Bethlehem 50km away and I can tell you that camping in May would require defrosting yourself in the morning... Rather avoid camping if you can.
