Remind me again, how defending an elder lady's right to ride makes us lower grade? I feel quite the opposite, I'd just like to thank all of you for being the other type of guy on the singletrack! I've read this thread to my mom and whilst we laugh and joke, she has seriously asked me where she CAN actually ride now. She feels she is not welcome on the trails and would rather stick to road, where she's never been belittled. So again, thanks for the support for her... Unfortunately, in a sea of positivity, it only takes one wave to knock you flat.

Hi there, Yes it was me who you tried to pass on Sunday. I don't want a mud slinging contest so here are my concerns: I was riding with my 60 year old mom at Northerns on Sunday when you came screeming into the single track shouting for us to move as you were coming in fast. As for VERY slow, I'm not even going to say a word! My mom had to uncleat and move over, where it wasn't really possible. Could you not have waited five minutes for a clearing to pass? Northerns is a family riding spot, imagine that was a kid you had snuck up on? I'm all for unskilled people staying off the black routes, that's why we weren't at Thaba! I think you should take your travel and ride some real technical stuff where us slow people don't hold you up? The guy riding behind you actually complimented my mom and told her to relax and just ride, you should try that sometime! We have been riding northern farms for 15 years, this is not a New Years resolution!

Agree with BrianMTB, don't think its fair to say people wear lycra or ride 29ers because they're sheep. Its their preference? Just like its yours' not to?
