a) easy-off bang

b) brasso

c) coca-cola

but whatever you do - don't use vanish LOL

hmmm Titanium bolts....

Not sure they're such a great idea.

I had a 3T ZEPP XL stem that had ti bolts and bars always creaked.  I replaced the Toi bolts with High tensile steel (12.8) and the creaking stopped. I think the Ti bolts were just too elastic for the application.

Just this morning I snapped a supposedly high tensile aluminium M6 bolt that holds my Lefty the Si XC3 Stem. It's been replaced with a 12.8 HT Steel bolt and the front end of the bike feels much stiffer.

Lesson learned. HT steel is strong and makes everything feel more solid. And they're cheap. No More alloy or Ti bolts for me.

Ti Bolts.  All Ti is not the same!  If it comes from the Far East - then it is probably not grade 5, with questionable vanadium and aluminium content.  As far as strength goes. our ultimate strenght is up to 160,000 psi and we are 40% lighter that HT steel. Our Ti and alloy bolts are in made in the UK.  Pro-Bolt supplies almost every Moto GP and Superbike team in the world - the product is that good.  In SA, Kevin Evans, Gavin R, Andrew McClean, Robbie Setton, Pro-Line and a whole host of others ride our bolts and bicycle components - I warranty that the will be no creaking!
