The mercury is shooting through the roof...

Hou duime for those still on the route.

Yup. My first race was not so good. Very hot through Ocean View and Chappies. Frustrated because the climbs were very congested. As soon as I had rythm I had sto brake because riders bunching me in. Then; disaster as my legs cramped up before Chappies, waited, and went on again. Then again badly cramped in Houtbaai. Had to walk Suikerbossie. Also; Chappies was so congested, we had to unclip and walk the final 200m over Chappies.

I will have to resign from the hub! I am not worthy to be amongst you guys! Time will probably be around 5h36.

was beacuse of a ealier accident, and they bottle neck just wouldnt clear, .

Havent seen so many accidnets in a long time. Some poor guy was airlifted on the blue route. lots of carnage out there . hope everyoneis safe.

Yes, on the way to Misty Cliffs there was blood all over the road surface from an earlier accident. Saw lot of these on the descents. Constantly had to reduice speed on the descents for the accident scenes.

A buddy of mine had the same issue. Had to dismount because of the masses of people wanting to get water / coke from the water point at the top of chappies. not cool!

@ Moridin,

You're a hero in my eyes, man.

The well trained riders are amazing.

Those who fight a different fight to finish - survival - is heroic.

Hang that medal where you can see it!

Thanks man! Will be training hard this year, definitely not hanging up my bike. Next year I am NOT walking up Suikerbossie. At least my bike did her part. Not one flat and not one technical issue whatsoever.

Now that you have a clearer idea of what it requires, kick azzz next year!
