Hole in your bladder? Try this...

I've just found out that you can patch a hole in a PVC hydration pack bladder with a vinyl repair kit from Sportsman's Warehouse (or probably any camping shop), so I thought I'd share it with the good folk of the hub. They're meant for fixing inflatable mattresses and the like, and they're about 20 bucks. Way better than R400-odd for a new bladder.

 

Camelbak, hydrapak and nalgene use PVC bladders, and there are most likely others. This trick won't work with platypus.

I've repaired my oldest Camelbak this way about 5 years ago and it is still going strong.
