Garmin 705 vs 800 quirks

.... i have just had my 705 warranty swopped for a 800.

I find that you have to touch or swipe twice to change screens. Its like you wake the screen up when you first touch and then second touch changes it?

once its awake it moves with one touch, but after 15 or 30 seconds you have to swipe twice again?

The backlight is OFF. Is there anyway to override this?

On the edge 705 this only happens when the backlight is on.

The screen on the 800 is not as sunlight readable as the 705....
