I don't get this whole goody bag thing, did you enter to ride or to get stuff?

 

Surely it'll be easier to go buy the stuff you want and ride your local trail than to enter a race and expect stuff for free.

It's really just about value for money. I don't use/need half the stuff you get in the bags, but when u look at what u pay to enter, in this case R180, a bit more effort goes a long way. Especially when u compare it not only to other events where u get more for less, but to the same series last year. The goodie bags last year were a million times better.

• I entered for the goodie bag.
  
• At the cost of race entry yes I could go buy the stuff I want and pay entry into a local trail (which I do every weekend). However being told you'll get a goodie bag you do expect to get one and a decent one at that when entry is as much as we pay.
  

Its a matter of principle at the end of the day ( As well as needing a new water battle, mine has a hole in the bottom).

Here's some simplification.

 

You pay x to enter a race. If you don't like it, there's plenty that will take your place. Make sure the door doesn't hit you on the way out.

 

The goody bag is a bonus.
