  1. I'm not one for massive changes after one game, but there's definitely a pattern here. Over the last few years, we have pretty much always been pretty poor in the first game of a series. The guys just don't look switched on a ready to go at it. Personally I blame this at the feet of team management, and this includes the captain. That said, once we're down, we usually have a lot of fight in us and that is most probably due to the players themselves. We need an opening pair that will see off the new ball and after that the guys can bat. Johnson is good, but no different to Brett Schultz a number of years ago. Fast left arm bowling always seems to intimidate batsmen and with Alviro, #, Faf, Smith having limited footwork will always prove to be difficult to play. They have a better spinner than us and, as much as I like Morne, he really needs to get fired up in order for our bowling lineup to rip through teams. I would really look to find a place for Stiaan van Zyl, the guy is too good to be playing provincial at the moment. It will however be tough for the youngster to get thrown into the mix in the place of Alviro, as the Ozzies will be in our faces come PE. Edited: Repitition
  2. I'm with Maniax. You trust the bike, you know how it handles and it'll be comfortable.
  3. First section of Cradle of Humankind MTB trail nearing completion After a short break over the festive season, the mountain bike trail construction team is back on site at the Cradle of Humankind. The team has begun constructing the next section of the trail - from the Bridge crossing past the Rhino and Lion reserve further up the trail. The Working for Fire team is once again assisting with the trail corridor clearance, and the first 4 km of the trail is nearing completion. And more good news: an event organiser has asked the Cradle of Humankind management team if they can use part of the trail for a mountain biking event in February. This event will help the team form a better picture of what would be required if we are to regularly permit events here. Every safety precaution will be used at the event, including marshals at the major road intersections to manage traffic and riders. We'll keep you posted. Thanks to everyone who has respected our call to stay off the trails thus far. For safety reasons please continue to heed this call, although you are welcome to visit on foot to inspect the trail work and discuss progress with the trail crew. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any queries or requests for further information: Gail Jennings (gail@gailjennings.co.za) or Hein Pienaar (hein@gauteng.net or 0824546617). Please visit the project website to see the map of the proposed trail, construction updates, meeting report backs and more.
  4. Not to be picky here, but it's "an inability to spell" and "if it becomes too much"
  5. I'd pick Symo over Adams any day of the week
  6. He should probably be dropped!
  7. Hardus Viljoen running through the top order...bowling in the mid 120's!
  8. Thanks for the input. Swimming technique is probably my biggest concern. At the moment my swimming is based more on self preservation than effective propulsion. Having watched the TI video, there's a lot I can work on, but balance is probably the biggest thing
  9. Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately the 2 day classes were full this year and the only time they could do the 1 dayer was on a Sunday evening. So the video will have to suffice for now and if I still battle afterwards, I'll book the course in the new year
  10. I've bought the TI freestyle made easy video, which will form the basis of my swimming training
  11. Time??? What's that? My goal is to finish. The running and cycling bit is coming along fine, so I don't foresee any trouble. Swimming on the other hand...
  12. It seems I have to go back on what I said previously. Just entered the Buffelspoort sprint tri on the 27th of Jan. I'm k@kking already
  13. You really need to stop posting, that avatar of yours is driving me nuts
  14. Apart from my very first bike (in recent times), it's where I have bought EVERY bike from...and I'm bad with bikes
