Your opinion will be appreciated, I have a choice of buying a new Titan sport, Silverback Stride 10 new or a Avalanche GT 1.0 secondhand - what would you choose?? Thanks in advance

Maybe if you post the components of each bike you will get more assistance. I stand to be corrected, but the Silverback is only a 8 speed (24 ). I would suggest you look at 9 or 10 speed. That extra few gears come in handy every now and then.

Based on frame I would go for the GT. But would like to know other specs including fork, wheels, cranks, derailleurs, brakes and shifters.

Thanks Guys:

Titan sport: R4200

Suntour fork, Alivio RD - Hydraulic disk brakes

Silverback Stride 10: R4000

Suntour fork, Deore RD - Tekro 3 Hydraulic disk brakes

Avalanche GT 1.0: R3250 (+/-3 yo)

Rock shock J3: LX RD, deore FD, Hayes hydraulic disk brakes

Thanks for the help

The GT still wins overall even though it is the cheapest option.

Edit: using what you save you can replace some worn drivetrain bits like chainrings and cluster Derailleurs should be fine.

Maybe look at replacing the forks in time.

Whats your budget? I take it you have all the kit needed?

Yes I have, this would be an upgrade to my Avalanche ax 375 (only thing it needs is Disk brakes and a better shock - there is no mount for a caliper on the frame so just an upgrade is out of the question) - I am looking at spending R4500
