BIOGEN - And other brands product levels

Ok, the pictures says it all.

 

I KNOW the container says 1.8kg, and I know that's (probably) exactly the amount of product that's in the bottle. But for the love of ****, why the HUGE bottle if its half empty?!? I'll tell you why, it goes along nicely with how we've been conditioned. Bigger must be better and/or better value for money. Hey look, this bottle is 45cm tall for R400. The other brand is 30cm tall for R400. Guess which one must be better value for money (forgetting that its 50% air).

 

My finger shows where the power starts, and this is a new bottle.

Hahahaha, I thought I was being cheated on when I opened Biogen Glutamine tub...seems like a common thing for Biogen.

I was using it as a meal replacement - lunch.

This stuff is a powder. Baby Powder is a powder. Usually when we crack one of those open they are full to the top, and the bottle isn't twice as high - filled with atmosphere. I'll believe "settling" might account for a 5% difference. Not a 100% difference.

Try the Evox. Best tasting when it comes to protein whey and the diet meal replacement - except for the Cookies and Cream flavour IMO. If you look for specials it is cheaper too.

I'm not concerned about taste. Its not for me anyway. I've got hang ups with the huge waste of plastic when it isn't needed.

They will probably tell you that its settled in the container. Never actually seen a container filled to the top

I use a protein shake called syntha 6 , tastes great. tried biogen and the evox range they are horrible

Funny how the "settling" always seem to happen with sports related products, and never with any other powdered goods. Baby Powder doesn't seem to "settle" to half its original size. Powdered baby formula is always filled to the top. Why doesn't that settle? Baby products is all I can think of right now, but shiat! I'll have allot more respect for a brand that keeps its products as small and as environmently friendly as possible. And that probably applies to most if not all sports supplements companies.

Sorry for the delayed reply here. This has to be the most common complaint we get, and on a fairly regular basis, as would many other vitamin and supplement companies should you ask them. What most people are concernes with is that we are deceiving consumers by showing such a big container, and only half full. Firstly, this notion holds no reality as the weight and size of the product is what is says on the container.

 

The honest truth and reason behind these size issues, is that certain, in fact many (cost effective) suppliers offer fairly standardized tub sizes. The more customized we go, the more expensive the end product becomes to the consumer. Due to the volumes and variety of products we carry in the range, it is important to try procure more of a similar size, in order to get the economies of scale, and ultimately best price to the end consumer.

 

We are looking at ways to improve our packaging and the important effect on the environment, but the majority of customers (if and when asked) would rather enjoy the cost benefit and lesser effect to their wallets. If the mass consumer voiced the concern that they wanted less "waste-age" and more price, we would listen. that is unfortunately the reality and trade-off we face.

 

Would be interesting to run another poll to see if that is still the case, at least on this forum

 

We remain open to suggestions, constructive feedback and good ideas that suit all.
