only the bigger events are seeded. MTB seeding differ from road seeding so they wouldn't use your road seeding for MTB events. Babaas is a good event to start with, but it is also boring as hell imo. It's still good for the first race.

Don't worry bout seeding , make sure you there early and stand right at the front . If kevin or Burry is around then just ask them to fall in line

and there we have the motto of every weekend warrier. hahaha

* marathon distance 75km

* half-marathon 40km

* fun-ride 20km

Maybe a bit off topic, but the "marathon" thing got me thinking...

Roughly, it's been said MTB is twice hard for the same time as Road. That would mean 2 hours/40km real MTB equals 2 hours/80km Road. Both would equal roughly 2 hours racing time. Now since a "half marathon" is 40km in MTB terms, can you equate that to a 20km real half marathon Run? For a hectic off road 20km run you'll take roughly 2 hours.

Therefore, for the same time, Running is twice as hard as MTB which in turn is twice as hard as Road which equals Running being thrice (four times) as hard as Road. This would assume the same time. A 4 hour Road ride would equal a 1 hour Run.

Using the Comrades as an example: Running: 10h/90km, MTB 10h/180km and Road 10h/360km.

Don't get too excited - was just playing around for fun...
