So I have decided to fit a Truvative X Guide chain guide to my Morewood Shova.

I will however have to drop my big blade, so i have decided on 24 and 38 chain rings with a 11:34 cassette.

I am looking for a multi purpose setup, the bike was bought for gravity enduros and free ride but since I am selling my Zula I will be using it for XC as well.

Anyone else running a similar setup?, any advice or suggestions?

I run a 2x9 setup on my AM bike. Here's what it consists of.

36T & 24T Blackspire chainrings up front.

11-34T XTR cassette at the back

Straightline Alu bashring

Blackspire Stinger chain roller (BB mount, and best of all... only R250)

X0 Long cage RD

X0 Shifters

XT FD

So far it's been great! I use it for AM, trail, XC, some dirt jumping... and even had a go at the DH course. No dropped chain to date.

Although I will admit I don't use the granny gear often!

I have also been running a 36/24 and a 34 cassette. It's a great combination, but I am considering changing to a 38/24, as I also use mine as a general purpose bike, and the 38 will be better on the long fast downs and flats.

Patches that bike looks nice and clean for a AM machine.

aah, it was so clean back then because it was straight out of the box. Hadn't been ridden yet...

now it's a different story... had the bike about 4 months and only washed it twice so far
