Silverback vs GT

I am looking to upgrade to a 29er, but i'm stuck between a silverback vida2 and a GT zaskar 9r elite. both are around 12000,but the vida runs xt,slx and the zaskar sram X9 and X7. Any recomendations! thanks!

Not familiar with those specific models.

 

The components mentioned is comparable in performance and value.

 

I would say look at the wheelsets offered on the bikes and also go and ride both bikes to feel the difference in the geometry.

Although I love the GT geometry I would go for the Silvervack due to 3 x 10 gearing instead of the 2 x 10 of the Zaskar, but that is personal preferance. Both have got the same front shock and I'm sure at that price range the wheelsets will be close. I have a GT Karokoram 1 with basicallly the same groupset as the Silverback. The only real difference is the fork which is better on the Silverback.

I'd say Silverback. It's lighter (12.2kg vs 13.6kg). Although they have the same fork, the Silverback's wheels are better (ZTR Crests vs ALL TERRA HP17)
