Hey guys

HELP ... i have a set of +/- 2000 Boxxer Forks that I am trying to revive, however the disc mounting are cracked on the lowers.

I am looking for a new set of lowers. The forks are OLD (still have v-brake mounts).

So i think they must be about a 2000 version????

I think it is a 32mm stantion but not sure on the travel .... but should be ok if its 2000 to 2005 model ...

just checking on the web - a 1999-2005 lower should work ... if you have one lying around that you are never going to use please let me know ... Looking at building them onto a spare bike for KZN DH to use for Newbies who want to give DH a try ... (so not looking at spending too much tom on them)

Thanks again

Take them to oom Jeff at GMRacing - he will be able to sort them out for you. I have previously had fork lowers welded in PMB and then had the hole re-drilled and tapped. Worked perfectly! Just needed some paint...

Nige, Have you tried speaking to Keith Clayton? They are specialist welders in Pinetown. Give them a call on 031 702 6918. They are opposite BMW (Down the side street off Old Main Road) They have repaired a few cracked frames for me and my mates and I am sure they can weld aluminium. You will have to get someone to drill and tap for you though. I am sure Keith will be able to point you in the right direction.

Good Luck!

any time! I have 2006 & 2007 boxxers lying around at home (with 2008's on my bike). The 2006's have a massive hole in the lowers. The 2007's have scratched stanchions), so if I cannibalized I could make 1 nice set... but I'm lazy, and my bike is insured, so if anything happens, I'll get 2012 Boxxer R2C2's as the payout.

Therefore I have decided to donate them to charity. I have a friend who needs the rebound knob and possibly stanchions. You can have the lowers and axle.

As for shipping... I think a speed services bag is R60. I can speed service it to your nearest P.O. The lowers wrapped in bubble should fit in the bag, and be less than 1kg.
