Hi folks,

I hit a rock with one of my pedal this weekend and it aint working so well now. I was thinking of buying another set of the same, that way I would have a spare pedal, but at a little over R1 000 its quite steep. Im wondering if I should move to another option.

What pedal do you like, I need one with a good amount of float so that my knees dont kill me?

No eggbeaters please.

I have candy 3's...nice platform that eggies don't have, I like a bit of float and they are super pimp and light....downside = rebuild every year

I also have a set of XT's pedals...bulletproof but heavy

The pedals may be angry because you call the peddles?! :whistling:

Shimano's all the way for me. They simply work. Maybe not the most fashionable, but what the heck. Occasional issue clipping in - but that's always been because of mud in the shoe, quick bang of the shoe against something and problem sorted.

Try Look Quartz. Few in the range. I have used the cheap one, and recently acquired the top on Carbon TI.

They start as little from about R700 up to R2200 (Carbon TI) a pair, service kits avail.

Nice float.

I bought a set and had a bearing issue, they were replaced without issue.

Good Luck.

Thats exactly why I moved away from them to the Time PEDALs

Thanks, I like these because they are similar to the time pedals wrt mud, but I see they have only 3 degrees of float vs the 5 degrees of my time pedals.

TIME, I will never use anything else. I've had my ATACs for 12+ years and they work in any condition with zero maintenance. cleats are now starting to look at bit worn ;)

Only using it for about 3 months. No Issues yet. It took a few big knocks so far and still going strong. Lighter than the Shimano equivilent trail Pedals. Check out Revolution Cycles Bree street. They still have a few sets left. The only issue is sometimes clipping in takes a second try because the platforms sometimes grip if you're sliding your cleat forward to clip in.
