  1. Lekker. Take little detour through West Coast Nationalpark.. be prepared to pay full entry fee if you don't have Wildcard Enjoy. ( did it about 6 years back on my own.. )
  2. This is great news. No hard feelings. Hope you get a bike soon!
  3. Easy.. as long as people use them they will keep doing it and be in business. Why don't you just use Bike hub classifieds Gumtree etc. unless people are so cash strapped and want money now in which case they will take whatever is offered.
  4. Over the years I found that most bikes are sold on the Brand name. There are always a low-end part on most of the bikes unless you buy the High-end bike with X0 or XX/XX1... Buying any new bike at 8k is really an entry level bike, considering it should sell for 12k and marked down to 8k tells me that possibly the slightly better wheels set might have been exchanged with slightly cheaper set in the b/s. This is not necessarily the manufactures problem and, in this case, more the b/s Considering your weight and timeframe of 30 odd days I would say" they" the b/s should fix/replace it under some warranty. Ride it... maintain it., upgrade the wheelset and components with new or good secondhand parts you could buy from Hub. Very importantly... ask, your questions regarding parts/bikes ect here on this platform. Here are members with decades experience/expertise that will be more than willing to assist you. You might just find they more knowledgeable than the chap trying to sell you a bike in the shop. Enjoy and stay safe.
  5. Q. Need to have Rockshox major service done. Contact details some one in Ctn area plse Can Pm me. Thanks
  6. do some homework - upgrade as you go. as you have some funds or as parts needs replacement. if you use shimano upgrade to XT - slightly heavier than XTR but more affordable without losing any or very litte performance/weight. Sram... Upgrade to XO - orther than XX...
  7. I have build quite a few bikes. and get questioned about; light vs heavy and cheap vs expensive. My experience is that when building a bike under 9kg for every 100grams = R1000 out of pocket. A lighter bike is therefor more expensive with more expensive parts meaning the shifting ect is smoother = beter ride experience. A person always believe that they have the best car/bike/cycle.... just because they havent driven/rode or dont know of beter. But all and all its also what you willing to fork out and how crazy or passionate you are. Here Im thankfull for Bikehub Classifieds..
  8. Im using Rotor with q rings.. and huge diffrence. Road. and mtb You can honestly feel it 53/28 ocp3 on my road bike Had so of my mates ride on my bike - afterward wanting to covert.
  9. Test weel on other bike - if it appears fine - have your fork checked out.
  10. fit your rim on another bike to illiminate the rim. then have the fork checked out.
  11. Feel Your frustration.. Think its time to rate these chaps..... for good and bad..
  12. are you sure you just referring to bike parts.. :-) ..... :whistling:
  13. Some have been coverd.... Having a low resistance tyre (Mtb) will assist in faster time - take in account your terain and your skill level. Surely think it applies for road. Tyre pressure - lighter wheels (better quality) Even lighter bike will assist. Spinning is important. pedal smarter.. not harder (avoid domkrag) understanding not just to "trap" but to develope an even power pedal stroke. Keeping overall body fat low... my 2c...
  14. So true... if you brake you have waiste energy... therefore improve in you technical skill - conering ect..
