So I did 50 km from Pinetown to Giba, through Giba up to St Heliers, through Hillcrest and back down through New Germany. It was warm but obviously not nearly as warm as a Durban summer but I never once felt the need to remove my helmet to get some air. This is something I'd need to do regularly with my old helmet. This helmet was WAY cooler. I have read some talk of hearing the wind whistling through you helmet and this is put forward as a bad thing. The noise was barely there but you could feel the wind being directed over your head. I like.

I also never had a problem with sweat dripping onto my glasses which was an issue I used to have. Or worse it'd drip into my eyes and sting like hell. I was using the bug net pads so not sure if this helped.

All in all I am very pleased with my purchase. We'll give it a big test when summer hits Durbs.

enjoy your ride

Thanks. It was stunning although the wind did come up at the end which made for a tough finish into it.

Stunning helmet.

Was it on special or is that the normal price?

The price I paid was on the ASG auction on here. I see buycycle sell it for R1550 (which they claim is a special).

You must have a pin head.....

(EDIT: Oh yes, and I forgot that for many cycling is a fashion show)
