Where this is the ultimate aero and weight efficient, makes sense.. where it all looks funny to us now think this is not that far off, just like cars we thought electric/diesel engines would never take off ..

Softride,Zipp and Trek have done beam bikes....nothing new there.

UCI regulations won't allow for bikes like that.

Cannot work

Railroads

  • Rail travel at high speed is not possible, because passengers, unable to breathe, would die of asphyxia.

Telephone, telegraph

  • Well-informed people know that it is impossible to transmit the human voice over wires as may be done with dots and dashes ofMorse code, and that, were it possible to do so, the thing would be of no practical value.

Automobiles

  • The horse is here to stay but the automobile is only a novelty—a fad.
    • The president of the Michigan Savings Bank advising Henry Ford's lawyer not to invest in the Ford Motor Co., 1903.

  • The ordinary 'horseless carriage' is at present a luxury for the wealthy; and although its price will probably fall in the future, it will never, of course, come into as common use as the bicycle.

Airplanes

  • Flight by machines heavier than air is unpractical (sic) and insignificant, if not utterly impossible.

Rockets

  • A rocket will never be able to leave the Earth's atmosphere.

Atomic/nuclear power

  • There is no likelihood man can ever tap the power of the atom.

 true story can keep going??..
