Had a great ride on my new 29er hard tail. The hard tail made the climbs much easier but made me suffer a bit more on the downhills. The vibe of the ride is always great and this is the third time I have done it. Will be back next year as I am a sucker for punishment.

I would like to thank the organizers for another fantastic event. This was my third buffet olives and will definitely be there next year. I have just 1 request for next year’s event….please put a couple more marshals at the 25/42 split because a lot of 42km riders decided that they had enough and bailed out onto the 25km route. Maybe make it a stop n go where the 42km riders who decide to bail get their number boards taken and thus can’t get timed for the race. A simple bail out sticker won’t work because they will just pull it off. This is just an idea, but thanks for another GREAT race.

Most pleased that things went pretty smoothly. It was quite hot, and waterpoint 1 could have done with more coke and water. @BBB: Point taken about the more marshals at the split. It is a tough race with a lot of climbing but the best bits are up the mountain - in the forest for the 25km route and the 42km riders really miss out on the best part of the whole route if they bail at the split. The views are stunning on the last section towards the tunnel. We could rather offer a bail option after the Ashanti dam, as the last climb to Hawekwa is pretty tiring for the backmarkers. I have lived in the area all my life but still am struck in awe when one gets to the water point amongst Giel's protea plantations.

Was my first and will be back for the next one, arrows were clear marshals were friendly ,though I feel an earlier start time would allow for a slightly cooler race and can the results not be posted on the organizers website surely this would be better than multiple emails ?
