New bike: advice needed.

I am riding a 2007 trek ex9 at the moment, really enjoy the bike, but its getting old. Am thinking of replacing it with a Giant trance, good move or not?

 

Also tempted to try get a Shova, but not keen to ride things like the Trans Baviaans on a shova!

Sorry can't comment on the bikes that you mentioned, I have not been on either.

Any other options? Looking for something I can ride up to the tokai mast, and then follow the downhill trails to the bottom.
