A tough, technical trail is available only ONCE in a year to a small field of Riders. The ride is open to all nature lovers, and people who want to make a contribution to conservation. This is NOT a race; there are no freebies or handouts. This event is an opportunity for Mountain Bikers to give back to the landowners who protect the limited open space in Gauteng. RequirementsFitnessSkillRespect for the EnvironmentBookingsThis is a limited field ride. You must book a place, and pay up front. This helps process riders on the day quickly and efficiently so that an early start is possible. The cost of the ride is R170 per person. There are no discounts or concessions, as this is a fund raising event. Marshalls and Water TablesThe Residents and the Local 4x4 Club provide water tables and marshalling. There are three watering points space even through the Ride. There are no energy drinks provided. The 4x4 Club lends a hand and will assist with the extraction of any rider in need. goya-goya Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 Guys... and Girls... I have helped design and ride the route... it is super sweeeeeeet! Seriously about 80% single-track/jeep-track ( you need to be alert all the time)... and the views are amazing... its hard to believe that it is so close to JHB... It is very technical and there is a lot of climbing in only 40km (one climb peaks at 24%!... that whole climb of about 1000m has an average gradient of 14% and it is technical!) Can you confirm approximately how many riders will be allowed in the 35km event...?
