Thanks :)

No Prob.

Im no expert on sponsorships and how it works, but my best guess would be being noticed with the top finishers.

Maybe you could approach a company of some sort and see if they are willing to sponsor, in saying this they would probably want exposure of some kind too?

Good luck!

I suggest getting a racing CV of sorts done. Include some event info more than just the results. Mention how many participants there were and which locations the race was held at. I shouldn't have to say that you need to word this CV towards a segment or industry you aim to approach for sponsorship. Obviously the majority of people in the cycling industry will understand the value of sponsoring someone who consistently gets results AND looks after their brand. Most young people seeking support don't realise that companies are more interested in seeing what their sponsorship will do for them than what your results necessarily are, if you're in the top or thereabouts. They will be more keen to know how you intend promoting their businessproduct than you simply racing. Work on getting these things sorted and have a plan of action before actually setting up any formal meetings with a potential sponsor. Than it's off to the various companies you are hoping to solicit in decent semi formal clothing and a humble yet keen attitude. Call and set up appointments properly stating that you are looking to meet with the marketing manager for a business proposal.

If you don't know how to do these efforts, research the specifics of each thing mentioned on the web. There are more than enough articles.

Good luck.

I'm sure there was another youngster on here called Grootbaas and he was getting a team together. Think it was about 6 months ago. Why don't you look him up and see what he has to say. Maybe someone here has his contact details
