No real trails as such, I know a few guys have ridden along the Palmiet trail starting at the Westville Football/ WOB club.

Otherwise your best bet is Giba. Where are you based in Westville? as thats where I live.

Stay just off Rockdale Ave, I've though about along the river as a possibility. Only just getting started and want somewhere close to home where I can go ride often until I get my fitness and skill levels up.

No dedicated trails as far as I know (I may be wrong though...) There was a website that somebody was putting together where you could upload your Garmin Tracks and they were going to try and link some "trails" together to get a few loops but I can't remember the details. Sure somebody will remember them. Was a guy that owned/worked in a bike shop if I recall.

Alternatively there are LOTS of hills in Westville. Just hit the verges! I have a few little "technical trails" in Pinetown but you need to ride with a bat here... And don't come through unless your paperwork is in order  . Ask any of the Westville boys ;)

Don't go anywhere near there (Not even in your car!!!) :D Kings Avenue would be my boundry and that little road at the end going towards the M13 is as far as I would go...

lol, best bet will be to ride on the road for training, thats pretty much what I do. Keep to the quiter roads, and hit a few verges, banks along the way to vary it up a bit. You can do the trail from WOB, but you end up walking a bit.

Giba is the only real trail in the area. If you are willing to get up to Waterfall there is a great route up there , speak to the guys at Concept cyclery in waterfall they will give you directions .

There is soooooooo much potential for trails to be built in Westville, near the prison, and also at the New Germany Nature Reserve.

New Germany Nature Reserve is a no go area unfortunately. My Aunt works there and I asked her of I could ride my bike there and the answer was a very positive NO! (Although walking is allowed as far as I know... )

Agreed, dude... There are acres and acres and acres of prime unused land near the prison.

I was keen at one stage to try approach them, tell your Aunt to get with the times, well managed trails with bring people and revenue in, a XC type trail would be awesome
