Right, so I have gone from doing 6km round trips to doing 15km 3 to 4 times a week and loving it.

Tried Meerendal today and I must be honest I need to be a lot fitter to really enjoy it, stairway to heaven was rather tough on me :-)

So I was wandering if you good people might know of a few farm roads or other routes that has great scenery that I can try with our motley crew for our (now regular) weekend ride?

I was thinking

- general cape town area from stellies to malmesbury type idea

-20 - 30km

-Some but not too many silly uphils (at this stage)

-Great scenary

- maybe a little brekky place nearby

Thanks in advance

ride the gravel roads at Jonkershoek - brekkie place right outside the gate. Also Tokai. Just avoid the single track at both places if you're not too confident.

Then of course there is Koeberg on your doorstep.

I once did vredendal to piketberg. Its gravel all the way with awsome landscape. Not to hilly as well. Its further than what you would like to do but keep it in mind for the future.

sounds great, how far about, longer rides are becoming more fun and I am even starting to enjoy grinding out hills

Koeberg is nice for starters as you can circle the dam twice and incorporate the short section to the beach and you will complete 28km.Problem I found they close the trails sometimes due to plant maintenance so I now do hill crest during the week or the new Hoogkraal (not sure on spelling) ,I would recommend them both as they have short climbs and hill crest has nice views once you on top.

Ji Markmad, will try Hoogekraal and HIllcrest cant believe the places you get to with a MTB awesome

We do Koeberg from my home, so around 9km to the start of the trail and then around 25 and the 9 back, so a good 43km.
