Help me buy new road wheels

RS80-C24 wheels are great. The only tangible difference between them and the Dura-Ace (besides being a bit heavier) is that the RS80's use cup and cone bearings instead of the Dura-Ace's sealed cartridge bearings. If you look after them, and service them every few thousand km's, you'll get fantastic life out of them. In my opinion, the +/- R3k saving, is worth it when realistically all you have to do is be a little more careful with their maintenance.

They run smooth and are pretty strong. Good value.

For around R5k you can also build a strong, reasonably light (around 1600g per wheelset) custom built wheel.

There was also a guy selling brand new Novatec wheels on here, a while ago, very good wheels too. I think he wanted like R3,5k - bargain.

My Cannondale came fitted with the RS80-24's in 2010. I still have them. No problems. They are my training wheels now, 300km's per week avg. Stiff and light enough. Value for money

Thanks. I'll check out those options.

Also consider token wheels C22A or C22AH.

Those look good too.

Will do some homework.

Thanks!
