I would also love a stage race. And if I can add an idea, why not a criterium series as well? A few weeks where there is a circuit race once a week in different areas of Gauteng. Weekly and overall results. Maybe I'm just dreaming......

SA cyclist Willie Smit (Vini Fantini-Nippo) was in the main breakaway of the day of stage 2. Think this great news to have another SA cyclist racing at international level.

My bike bag won't fit into her car.

Hi. I've decided to join my girlfriend on holiday in Jeffrey's Bay and bought a ticket to fly down to PE Airport thinking that renting a car or getting a shuttle service would not be a problem. Big mistake from my side. There are no cars available for rental and a shuttle service (one way) to drive around 70km would cost between R700-R950. That is almost the same price as my flight ticket. Does anyone know of a cheaper way to travel from PE airport to JBay with a big bike bag? Riding my bike with all my luggage seems to be the best option here.

Also been trying to find out the dates for December..... Previous years they did close from +/-15 December to around +/- 15 Jan.

Does anyone know if the route has been repaired for the DC after it was damaged on that one stretch last year? Or are we going off-road again this year?

Does anyone know what time the social tandem group (Ta/Tb) starts? I'm starting in VA(5:40am) and hope to be back in time for a second lap on the tandem - don't know if I'm pushing my luck with this idea. If I'm too late I will just start with the next available group.

I see on the cyclingsa website that the elite SA champs will be in Nelspruit and the Vets/Masters/Schools SA champs will be in Oudtshoorn. But I do agree that Nelspruit is far to travel if you are from the Cape and Oudtshoorn is also far to travel to from the Northern provinces. A more central location would be better for all, but where?

I know it is still a long time until the race and things can still change but there is a lot of rain forecast for next weekend.
