Best watch for distance measurement?

I went kayaking the past weekend and have no idea of the distance we covered- and have the same problem on the bike. I'm not interested in a bike computer, just in a watch that can give me the same function as a odometer?

 

What watches should i be looking at? and prices? I basically want the distance of the trip and the time...
