If you want to be safe the PWC MTB Park - they open at sunrise as far as I am aware. Have only ever done trail runs there so not sure what the cycling is like but probably better than a spinning class. Else the spruit.

Connect with the Cyclelab bunch, since they should know routes around there. Will also likely find riding partners for early morning as well.

You can do a fairly decent ride if you head over into Lonehill and link together all the servitudes. Nothing too challenging, but it does offer some off-road riding.

Ride through Magaliessig, over Witkoppen. Right at first 4way crossing. Down to Lonehill reserve. Cut down through Lonehill park, cross over Lonehill boulevard, down servitude past Crawfords. Left onto Concourse. All the way down to Fabs estate, right down Alliway, Turn right up servitude. Follow that all the way back to Lonehill shopping centre. Back up through Lonehill Park. Then head to Beverley and do some hill repeats on Mulbarton road.

Just wish all the servitudes were open access in Lonehill. Would be some great riding then.

no worries

I am out the country from next week so when I return, later the week after that am quite keen to give this route ago

gave it a ride last week and on Monday this week. It was about 10km from the Caltex on Witkoppen and a lekker ride. Watch out for the gate just over the bridge behind lonehill shopping centre (just off crestwood after the church / nature reserve), it only opens at 5:30.

I am n craigavon. there are many kerb hopping routes through the centre of lonehill and then out down Main and up the hill and n to Helderfontein or beaulieu. others that are better with more singletrack start from broad acres, and go out from the back of the shops. There is also the spruit and some guys who do a surf and turf early on Friday, and on Monday afternoon.

Anything from 1 hour to 3 hours.
