i am on the market for a upgrade bike ,I started a year ago on a silverback Saturn that i paid 5k for..... now looking to upgrade to full suspension.

i can get a 2012 Scott Spark 60 (L) for round R 11800 and thinking of putting mavic 317 tubeless on with SLX 20 thru Hubs,

can anyone direct me in the correct path?

I must say this is serious money for me to be spending on a bicycle..... and i want to be sure its the correct move for me...

I must say I love riding the green belt (Alberts Farm all the way down to JHB botanical gardens to Randburg Conrad drive and back up to Alberts farm.

Ok so forgive me for pointing out that spending money on wheels rather than going for a slightly higher spec bike is a big mistake.

The 60 is the entry level version of the bike and has a coil front fork, rather spend the extra cash on the bike itself and get a better all round bike, moving from deor if memory serves on the groupset to slx, air fork and a generally better wheel set, no it's not going to be a set of mavics but will be good enough to ride for many many happy miles.

Remember that while you can get a great deal on a set of wheels the discounts you get from a better spec bike far outweigh and benefits you will get from the wheels, when you do upgrade the groupset, fork shock etc you will spend way more, also remember your resale value is greatly reduced thanks to the spec of the bike the great parts are fitted to.

That's just my 2c worth, personally I would go for a 50 or 40 if the budget will stretch that far and get many years of quality bike vs a bike for now and upgrade in a year or 2's time
