2013 KZN Enduro Series - should i try organise one?

Hey guys and girls

 

I need some feedback here ...

The KZNMTB Commission (of which i am a part) are looking into the new Enduro Format this year and are hosting an Enduro event at their MTB Festival on the 12th January 2013 at Cascades.

 

Current Enduro events for 2013 are:

Enduro linked with Karkloof Classic (I am in talks with Impi about running this event again)

Enduro at Giba Gorge - 13 July

So what im thinking ... put together a series, (similar to the ROAG XC series)

 

1. Cascades PMB (other than the Festival Event)

2. Karkloof (linked to the classic so that the JHB guys can come down too)

3. Giba Event

4. Spionkop - on the Berg and Bush Routes (have sent Gary Green a mail - awaiting a reponse)

5. Mountain Splendor Mania in the Berg in November (Meeting with Dave Ward the organiser next week to discuss it as hes keen).

 

I am thinking that if we can link them to other events it will make the series sustainable and also help as the weekends could be weekends away with 2 days of riding??? EG Enduro on Sat ... XC on Sunday.

 

IDEAS????? ANYONE???

SPONSORSHIP???? Anyone keen to sponsor something like this??

Great idea! Just what the MTB scene needed!!

If this takes off, we are in for some proper mtb'ing fun! I like your idea of a 2-day event Enduro on Sat / XC on Sun

I really enjoyed the Karkloof Enduro last year. The series is a great idea and it's a cool format for racing.

While it is track dependent and a ball-ache to include, it would be cool if a couple of the runs did have proper Bull Run lines that can help more technical riders make up some time on their fitter counterparts
