Anyone go riding yesterday at about 530pm-8pm in the heavy wind?

Hi did anyone go riding yesterday in the heavy wind? Seems the winds picked at 45-50km/h on Milnerton ridge.

Controlling the bike was hard. I felt like I would be blown right off the road. I could feel the wind picking me up!

biggrin.png true it was heavy. Yet as you go into Monte vista nearer N1 city the effects diminish as there is less exposure to the ocean winds. In the end it was a good ride.

Surprising though the winds were like when Hurricane Sandy was a super storm - nearly 27mph!!ohmy.png Those US riders shpould come to Kaapstad its daily weather hereclap.gif

Ja, I did 70k's, left home 4.50pm from Kalk Bay, round the point, to Scarborough, Misty Cliffs, turn around and back the same way, blew the cobwebs out
yep - rode in Bellville. It was, uhh, challenging!

Today the wind is way better on windfinder.com. Its looking fairly goodclap.gif .

The tail wind home yesterday was smooth sailing yet I couldn't take full advantage of it due to the cross winds literally trying to topple me!sad.png

Anybody have a wind-assisted record to share? Mine is Kalk Bay to Sunningdale, where the West Coast Express starts.

Sub 1 hour - 43km.

Edit - that's solo - no drafting benefits, besides the draft up my shaft :P
