dyls Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Anyone know a trail from Assagay to Giba?Im keen to go look for it, I know the general direction I should go, and I have seen guys joining the Blue Route from the top of Gravity So Im gonna head in that general direction and see how I go, The less Tar the better.If anyone knows the route please help or if you keen to come hunting for it I will be going on Saturday morning if meneer sun stays out.lekkershotbye
gibamtb Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 I normally do this the other way round.I park at Giba and ride into shongweni and then threw Summerveld and back to Giba, re joining Giba at Gravity.The only thing is you going to need an EMBA board if you do this, not sure if you have one. it's about 30 to 40 km.
Benjamin Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Can easy get to Assagy from Giba or vice versa. But as mentioned, if you want to go through the cane you need an EMBA board. Can go on the tar up and over Alverstone if you like, or can go down sunrise and back under the bridge at Peacevale, then up to wherever you want to go. If coming from Assagay up sunrise then on to Giba, always a good ride. But pack extra juice and sarmies, quite a solid ride.

gibamtb Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 EMBA - Ethewkweni Mountain Bike Association. A license you will need to ride in the cane fields. I'm not sure if you can still get day license from Maverick Cycles.They have a facebook page. Also a web address but I can't deem to get in this morning.

dyls Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Yip! I found a few very cool trails! one of them was just over 60k's! I was averaging about 50k's every second day during the holidays until this happened at the free ride area in giba! It kinda slowed the cycling down, but all fixed now and back up and running!
