If they in a big group with TDF kit then chances are they are TDF riders.

While back i was cycling in the same area and stopped at a red light when an old man in a bakkie stops next to me and goes off about a bunch of cyclists (not sure waht club) earlier on that did something to upset him, did not know exactly how to reply other than to say "Sorrie oom, jammer oom". Seemed to let off his frustration and on pulling off wished me well and a pleasant safe ride further.

At least this international can claim experience of the TDF morning ride phenomena?.

It's a bit difficult. The group in question is not a TDF club group, or even organised by Frans. That has been a meeting spot for 20 or so years, and the group is made up of members of plenty of different clubs. That's one of the reasons it is so unruly, with no-one to control things. The other big offenders are a group that ride out of Bedfordview - some kamikaze stuff through the robots of late.
