PE to CT Off Road, Advice.. Please

Hi

I'm Planning to head to SA soon & ride from PE to CT Off road, via some of the best Trail along the route. Anybody know who has done it. I'm after some GPX files so I can follow. Not to sure what rules are like In SA. You Can't just ride anywhere, unlike Scotland.

if anyone has any advice, that would be a great help.

The above is a link to the Freedon Trail, which you can pick up fairly close to Port Elisabeth by getting onto it going through the Baviaanskloof section. It is a rough outline for a route which have been done often enough before.

I toured from near Cradock along the Freedom Challenge route down to Hermanus in the Western Cape Nov/Dec 2011. Meryl from FC http://freedomchallenge.org.za/ made all my accommodation bookings (up to Montaque) and provided all the route information. Go onto their site and look for the tour options. There is an option starting from PE. You can contact Meryl meryl@freedomchallenge.org.za I know she is a little bust right now with the FC Race Across SA so you may not get an immediate reply but she will definately help. I made a video of my tour. Its in three parts and will give you an idea of the areas that you will travel through.

You could also consider the pe2plett route - worth asking the organisers about the access requirements.
