Best and Worst Roads in and around Jozi

I'm new to road cycling having spent the last decade on mountain bikes and avoiding tar like the plague. But I figured I'd give it a shot and see how I like it.

 

Since I have no real idea of where is safe or dangerous for roadies are there any areas I should avoid or roads I definitely have to ride?
